Been a busy holiday season. Despite that I've kept painting, but I am caught presently in that period of time when I have a number of projects approaching completeness, but none that have actually gotten there. It doesn't help that I have the bad tendency to work on a bunch of projects at once thereby dispersing my efforts (it does mean that when I do get things done I have a bunch finished at about the same time). So, here is another item from this last year I modeled -- an anti-aircraft tower.
In the apocalypse games I've played in enemy aircraft have tended to be a bother. So, I grabbed an old fantasy fortification tower that wasn't doing anything, added a bunch of bits, and the finished result was this anti-aircraft tower. It uses the Forge World rules for fortifications. For 140 points I get a tower with AV14 and six hits with a long-barrel, Anit-Aircraft mount, twin-linked Autocannon and sentry Heavy Bolter. It can even hold an unit that can sit inside and shoot out. I haven't had the chance to use it in a game yet, but I figure it ought to give the enemy airforce fits.
