Throw Down with the Meanest The Galaxy has to offer!

Posted by Shadowvast on 13. April 2011 10:25

Who has the baddest, most hard hitting special character in 40k? Space Marines? Tyranids? Dark Eldar? And Just who has the toughest in Warhammer? This is your chance to prove that your race, your faction, has the best of the best!

This is a three round single elimination game for a special character and supporting troops with a point total not exceeding 300 points. All of the games are run on identical game boards resulting in a single winner from a field of eight players. The game takes into account painting, sportsmanship and battle scores. The more your special character personally achieves, the better your final score will be.

Turns will be timed with a timer, with each round finishing in 45 minutes, so the three round game can take up to 2 1/2 hours. Any movement, shooting, or assaults that cannot be completed in the alloted time will not be allowed, so think carefully about how many models you bring. Yes this means we will stop a game mid action if time runs out. Please bear in mind that this is a ladder tournament, with each day's qualifyiers moving on to the next day's events.

Any special Character in a current GW codex or army book is legal unless the character is always mounted on a vehicle. Vehicles, artillery, and walkers are not legal units in the character ladder. Please bring your relevant codex, dice and tape measure along with a copy of your army list to the tournament. Plan to arrive about 20 minutes early so we can verify your list and check you in.

Final rounds will be played on Sunday, so plan to attend!

Do I need to play in all rounds of the Character laddder tournament to progress to finals on Sunday?  Can I play in just 1 round (like on Friday) and have a chance at qualifying for finals on Sunday??

Are the troops troop choices, or anything that can be joined to an independent character, or does it specifically have to be an option for that HQ choice aka retinue?
